Air conditioning is more efficient than radiators

Here in the UK, the weather is known to change from blazing sunshine to blisteringly cold in no time at all. Usually with very little warning that it is about to happen. For many of us, when the weather starts to get cold, we will always try to wear an extra jumper or dig out the fluffy socks before we turn on the thermostat to the central heating. However, there comes a time when we have to resign ourselves to the fact that our central heating is going to have to go on. The trouble with central heating is that it is expensive to run, very inefficient an needs regular maintenance and yearly safety certifying all of which cost you money. Pipe heat loss is a very real issue. Hot water produced from your boiler can lose up to 20% of it temperature by the time it gets to your radiators. That's money you've paid to heat water which is lost under your floor boards.  You may tell yourself that there is nothing that you can do, that you just have to accept that this is what it is going to cost throughout the winter months. But, I am here to tell you that this isn’t the case. In fact, you may find that a modern air conditioning system is actually what you are looking for.

Now, i know it sounds odd, after all, an air conditioning system is to cool down the air within your home, however, it is a little known fact that air conditioning systems can actually keep things warm too. Not only this, but it could also be more economical then turning on your central heating.

So, it could save me money?

The answer to this is yes, the saving will depend, of course, on the amount that you use it, but air conditioning units are more economical than central heating. An air conditioning system is able to produce 3 kilowatts of heat for each and every kilowatt of electricity that it uses. When you compare the 1 kilowatt that central heating can produce for the same amount of energy, it makes sense how this is the case.

Of course, there is going to be an investment into buying and then fitting the air conditioning system into your home, however, this really does work out better for you in the long term. Not only will the air conditioning system allow you to feel warm and cosy during the winter months, but also, when the summer comes, you can stay cool too. Which is definitely giving you the best of both worlds.

It is important that you have an expert install your air conditioner system, not only will this ensure that you receive the very best quality, but also that you can have peace of mind that your system will be able to stand the test of time. Whether it is warming up your family in the winter, or keeping you all cool during the summer.
